Quaker Life Network Expression of Interest form

Would you like to share more about yourself with us?

Network WatermarkIf you would, please fill in this form. Sharing commits you to nothing more than receiving the regular emails. You can hear about opportunities that might interest you. It does not mean that you will be expected commit more than is right for you.

The Network’s tasks are very varied in scope and flexibility:

  • Working with Children & Young People
  • Equality issues – Diversity & Inclusion
  • All aspects of pastoral and spiritual care – Eldership & Oversight
  • Knowledge about employment – meeting house staff & their employers
  • Thinking through Quaker identity – Our Faith & our Practice
  • Seeing ways to reach newcomers – Outreach
  • Being part of our Quaker community exploring many issues

Joining the Network does not necessarily mean that you will be asked to contribute to any particular Quaker Life work. This depends on the needs of Meetings, workload of the network and your availability and skills offered.

Network members are likely to grow through their service, as indeed Friends do through every role they undertake.
What support will I get?

Training and support will be offered in a variety of ways.

All Friends who undertake particular roles will be supported by other members of the Quaker Life Network and / or members of Britain Yearly Meeting’s staff team.

All network members receive newsletters and emails letting them know of some of the projects that the network has undertaken, and providing information about forthcoming opportunities for service.

Most tasks will be carried out in pairs working together, particularly tasks that involve working with Friends in their meeting.  Some issues, particularly around pastoral care and employment, are highly sensitive and confidential.

For people recruited to help develop children and young people’s work in meetings, there will be additional selection, induction and training, including criminal records checks.
