Quaker Life Network Request Form

Would you like to ask for help from the Network?

Network WatermarkIf you would like to make a request to have Friends come to speak or work with you in your meeting; or you would like to make a request for support or advice to members of the Quaker Life Network, you will need to fill in this form. It is intended to give us some background to the piece of work that you or your meeting would like some help or support with. You are not committing yourself to anything by completing this form.

We try our best to respond to all requests and match Friends with requests for service. This is helped by allowing suitable time for planning and finding Friends. Please try to allow at least 8 weeks for us to find the right people  to meet your meeting’s needs. For requests that involve phone support or opportunities that Friends can get involved with from their own home this is likely to be significantly less..

Helpful information

Communicating during planning

Try to involve at least two contacts from your meeting in all communications with visitors. Sometimes important information can be picked up by including more than one person in every correspondence. Please aim to follow up telephone conversations with an email to confirm what has been discussed and agreed. Having a shared written record will ensure that all parties are aware of these discussions and visitors will be able to meet better the requirements of the request.

Meeting and hosting of visitors

Can you provide a clear map or directions that show the venue, parking, and the nearest station. Include any landmarks that will help to locate the venue.

Are the visitors are going to be arriving before the participants? Please consider; the time that they can arrive, access to venue for setting up, heating arrangements (if needed). Is there anything unusual going to be happening in or to the venue on the day?

Are you making overnight accommodation arrangements for visitors? If there is controversy in the meeting it is better for visitors not to stay with any of the protagonists.

Please make it clear what refreshments you will provide (coffee, lunch etc.)

It is your responsibility to liaise with Friends coming to your meeting to offer them reimbursement for any expenses that they will need to recover. Quaker Life is not responsible for facilitating this process.

Expenses

Although the Quaker Life Network has made the contact for this workshop, Quaker Life does not offer to facilitate the reimbursement of travel and other reasonable expenses. It is helpful if you can be aware of this and make meeting visitors aware of any meeting guidelines or an expense claim form as soon as you are able?
