2024 Information about Yearly Meeting Nominating Group

Dear Friends,
Can you see the spark of potential in others? Do you enjoy speaking with Friends and building connections?
If so, you may be right to serve on Yearly Meeting Nominating Group.

Every year, we seek Friends who may be willing to serve. YM Nominating Group plays an important role in shaping our Society of Friends through nominations. Friends who serve are drawn from those attending Yearly Meeting.
“Live adventurously. When choices arise, do you take the way that offers the fullest opportunity for the use of your gifts in the service of God and the community? Let your life speak.” – Quaker faith & practice 1.27

If you (or someone you know at Summer Yearly Meeting) has one or more of the following qualities we’d love to hear from you:

  • Can see and celebrate the gifts and skills of others
  • Enjoys speaking to a wide variety of Friends
  • Interest in finding out about nominations
  • Experience of nominations at Area, Group or Local level
  • Experience of young Quaker events and/or Young Friends General Meeting (YFGM)
  • Interest in short-term service (less than one year)
